The short version

We use only storage that is strictly necessary to provide what you ask for, so there is no consent banner (PECR reg 6 and Sch A1 para 4, as substituted and inserted by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 from 5 February 2026). We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. We do not use analytics cookies: any counting of visits we do is cookie-free. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.

What we store

  • bx_session (cookie). Keeps you signed in. 2 hours idle, 7 days at most.
  • bx_csrf (cookie). Security: only our pages can act on your account. Kept for the session.
  • bx:quote-draft (session storage). Remembers the quote form if you close it. Until you close the tab or send the form.
  • bx:account-draft (session storage). Remembers your email on the sign-in form (never a password). Until you close the tab.
  • Pending quote, weight unit, cart, headline cache (local storage). Carries your calculator figures and cart to the next step. Until you clear it or the step completes.
  • bx_oauth_state (cookie): set only when you choose Continue with Google or Apple. It links their reply to your browser, so no one else can finish the sign-in. Set on our site. Lasts up to 10 minutes and is deleted when you come back. Strictly necessary.
  • bx_oauth_2fa (cookie): set only if you use an authenticator app and sign in with Google or Apple. It holds the sign-in while you enter your code. Set on our site. Lasts up to 5 minutes. Strictly necessary.

Identity check and checkout

During the identity check, Sumsub (our identity-verification provider) sets its own cookies and device checks to secure the check and prevent fraud. At the payment step, Stripe (our payment processor) loads on our page and sets two cookies on our site to prevent fraud: __stripe_mid (1 year) and __stripe_sid (30 minutes). These are strictly necessary for the payment you ask for. If you use Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, or sign in with Google or Apple, you also deal with Apple, Google or Stripe directly, and their own cookies apply on their own sites (for example, Link can remember you on Stripe’s site if you ask it to). What we don’t do

No advertising or marketing cookies, no fingerprinting for marketing, no tracking pixels in emails, and no selling of data.

Clearing it

You can clear site data in your browser at any time. You will be signed out and your cart will empty; the site will keep working.

Check your identity

We check everyone before they can accept an offer, buy from us or be paid. This keeps stolen gold, fraud and money laundering out. It takes about two minutes. You'll need photo ID (passport, driving licence or ID card), a recent proof of address, and your phone or webcam for a short selfie. Please also confirm you are 18 or over and live in the UK.

The check is run for us by Sumsub, our identity-verification provider. Sumsub also uses some of this data for its own purposes (see below). The face match uses biometric data, so we ask for your explicit consent. If you prefer, call us and we will check your ID in person instead.

If a check doesn't pass, a member of our staff reviews it before we decide anything. You can ask us to explain, give us your side, or ask for a person to look again. See our Privacy notice, section 4.
